The Raven programming team has a wide range of responsibilities that affect all facets of our games. They create the AI that drives the malevolent actions of the enemy. They set up the amount of destruction that weapons do. They determine player controls, physics, vehicles, environments – and perhaps most importantly of all, they deal with general gameplay (a.k.a. the ‘fun’ factor). One new area programmers are expanding into is scripting which is a hybrid of level design and game programming. It deals largely with setting up cool moments, little vignettes that make the world live and breathe, such as ingame cinematics. Our staff includes veteran codesmiths from all over the world as well as younger programmers who are still new to game programming. And because we are always working with the latest tools and the greatest video game engines, our programmers are constantly improving their skills making Raven games the best in the business.
